The City of Greater Geelong has been working tirelessly over the summer period to prepare the Geelong Arena for another season of Supercats action. The Arena remains Geelong's premier basketball venue and premier multi-purpose indoor event facility. Following the installation of a state of the art sprung floor in 2005, meeting international regulations for basketball and netball, and the installation of new rings and electronic scoreboards in time for 2006 Commonwealth Games action at the Arena, the venue stands ready as the Supercats begin their climb back to the top in 2010.

These improvements to playing facilities as well as a fully refurbished corporate area in the old gallery section will make for an amazing basketball experience at the Arena.

The sprung floor will assist in maintaining the player's endurance and on court stamina by reducing the pressure on the body.

The new rings meet international specifications for clearance from the court and will be a huge bonus to those who like to treat rings with as much disrespect as Supercat Jamal Brown

CoGG have increased the number of disabled seats, with access now including row G, middle section of the grandstand. There are now a total of 12 positions available for disabled patrons.

Another change is access to the seating region. Members can access the seating through the stairwells positioned at the north and south ends of the grandstand. Access will only be permitted from the middle section of the court for front row box holders.

Visitors to Supercats games can easily find the Arena, situated at 110 Victoria Street North Geelong, the Arena is right on the door step of the North Geelong railway station and has ample parking around the venue itself and in the station carpark.

The Arena can cater for all sorts of functions from birthdays, weddings and conferences for as little as 10 people to over a thousands of people depending on the type of function.

The fully licensed venue has catering facilities, plenty of parking and is situated opposite North Geelong railway station which is convenient for out of town and local visitors.

The Arena is Geelong's premier basketball stadium and is the home to Geelong's champion basketball team The St Laurence Geelong Supercats.

The Arena plays host for various functions and concerts throughout the year and has had all sorts of acts on stage from "The Wiggles" to "Midnight Oil" and John Farnham.
