The St Laurence Geelong Supercats star import and SEABL MVP favourite Isma’il Muhammad is free to play in the Supercats’ must win clash against Ballarat after a striking charge against him was dismissed by the league tribunal today.
Muhammad had been charged with striking after a challenge for a loose ball with Dandenong’s Vince Inglima at the Arena on Saturday night. Both players were ejected from the game after the incident.
After hearing evidence from 2 of the officiating referees, Inglima, Rangers’ coach Warren Dawson and Muhammad, SEABL Tribunal chair Rick Lewis determined on the balance of probabilities that the charge was not sustained and then dismissed the charge against Muhammad.
A relieved Muhammad said “I am just looking forward to getting on with business and getting ready for Ballarat at the Arena on Saturday night”.
The Supercats are back at the Arena next Saturday night to take on country Victorian arch rivals, the Ballarat Miners, featuring former Supercats import Jamal Brown. The match tips off at 7.30 pm.
