The Board of the St Laurence Geelong Supercats today announced the appointment of Mr. David Hoey as General Manager, replacing Damian Waight who recently took up a position with the Golden Plains Shire.
“David outlasted a field of high quality candidates for the General Manager position” said Supercats Chairman, Keith Roderick. “He has a broad range of management skills which is crucial and I am sure that all Supercats supporters will enjoy his very genuine and personable character.
David recently moved from Hobart to make Geelong his family home.
David Joins the Supercats bringing with him twenty-two years experience in Senior Management in Commercial Radio and 6 years as Operations Manager for the Ag Quip Field Days (NSW) and the Australasian Country Music Awards and Festival (Tamworth Country Music Festival).
With a personal passion for Basketball, his appointment will add a new dimension to the
St Laurence Geelong Supercats both from a business to business perspective and bringing with it a fresh look at promotional opportunities in relation to game nights for spectators.
Hoey will commence as the Supercats General Manager from November 2nd.
“David will spend time familiarising himself with the Supercats organisation and will focus initially on consolidating the clubs 2010 sponsorship and membership programs”.
