Braith Cox enters SEABL 300 Game Club |

Geelong Supercats guard Braith Cox will become the 17th male to play 300 SEABL games when he takes to the court Saturday night at The Arena against Knox Raiders.
Cox was an integral member of the Ballarat Miners program for eleven years, before transferring to the Supercats in 2006. In his first season with the Supercats Braith won a Championship, his second SEABL career title. Braith played his first game in a Miners uniform on 27th April, 1996 as a 15 year old, but this was the only game he would participate that year. Cox returned the following year, but played minimal minutes off the bench. Braith improved his scoring average each year for the next seven years, earning numerous All SEABL team selections and Australian Youth Player of the Year in 2001. Braith averaged 22.8ppg, 4.3rpg and 4.9apg in 2001 and helped the Miners secure the South Men Championship. In his 299 games to date, Braith currently ranks as the 18th All Time Leading Scorer with 4,968 points, and is ranked 11th All time in Assists with 1,204. 2005 was a memorable year for Braith, having recovered from a knee reconstruction due to a horrific car accident; he averaged 19.5pts, 5.3ass and was recruited to the Melbourne Tigers NBL team. Braith went onto play 10 games for the Tigers and earn a NBL Championship ring. Braith also played 32 games with the Perth Wildcats in the 2004/05 season. The Geelong Supercats currently sits in second position on the ladder with a 16-3 record and will be aiming for another Championship. Braith is enjoying an excellent year and is averaging will be keen to finish his milestone year with another Championship.  |
