Geelong Supercats coach Mark Leader had only one word to describe Saturday night’s 109-88 win over Albury-Wodonga- Ugly.
In a match that never reached any great heights, save for a spectacular Isma’il Muhammad reverse two-handed dunk in the third quarter, the Supercats did enough to improve their record to 11-6 heading into the Queens’ Birthday break.

May 30: Geelong Supercats 109 (N. Herbert 23, C. Lee 21, N. Owusu 16) defeated Albury-Wodonga Bandits 88 (F. Lockett 30, J. Williams 14, J. Quinn 14) at the Arena.
The St. Laurence Geelong Supercats returned to the winner’s list on Saturday night at the Arena with an emphatic win over league cellar dwellers the Albury-Wodonga Bandits.

May 23: Frankston Blues 128 (A. Harms 34, R. Kampman 33, D. Gruber 20) defeated Geelong Supercats 115 (N. Herbert 33, J. Reardon 21, I. Muhammad 19) at the Frankston Basketball Centre.
The St. Laurence Geelong Supercats learned first hand what it is going to take to be on top in the SEABL in 2009, when they faced the undefeated ladder leaders Frankston on their home court on Saturday night. Geelong gave a good account of themselves before falling short by 13 points.

St Laurence Geelong Supercats guard Nathan Herbert has been named in a youthful Australian Boomers training squad annonced taday by Basketball Australia. Herbert will participate in a number of training camps which preceede international tournaments in July and August.

Memo to the rest of the SEABL: Geelong is back to its ruthless ways.
The Supercats 113-88 point hammering of Ballarat on Saturday night at The Arena the third straight victory by more than 15 points.
At the same time the trashing of the enemy extended the club’s winning streak to six in cult guard Jamie Medved’s 150th game for the club.
