St Laurence Geelong Supercats guard and 2008 MVP Nathan Herbert has not rested on his laurels going straight back to work for his NBL club the Southern Dragons. Herbie starred along with former Supercats point guard Rhys Carter in the Dragons' demolition of the Perth Wildcats at Kilsyth on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons continue their three game series against the Wildcats at Knox on Tuesday night and Broadmeadows on Wednesday.

The St. Laurence Geelong Supercats congratulates radio station K-Rock 95.5 for winning the SEABL South Conference Media Award for Best Radio Coverage for the second straight year. 
Andrew Bews and Supercats own master court announcer Tom "Kingy" King are to be especially congratulated for regularly featuring Supercats Players and Coaches on their outstanding Saturday morning sports update "Sports Briefs". Well done lads, see you again in 2009 ! |

The St Laurence Geelong Supercats home grown forward Nathan Herbert has been voted the club’s Most Valuable Player for season 2008. Herbert polled 102 votes from the Supercats coaching staff to take the coveted award ahead of centre Daniel George (72 votes) and import veteran Shawn Myers (38 votes).  |

St Laurence Geelong Supercats Nathan Herbert and Braith Cox have been awarded for their outstanding performances in the 2008 season with selection to the All-SEABL South conference team. The tem is selected by the player's peers with selection on a points system by opposing captains and coaches. 
Recent Sydney Spirit NBL recruit DAVID GRUBER has been rewarded for another sensational SEABL season with a position on the All SEABL South Men team. Joining him in the frontcourt is JOE WERNER of the Kilsyth Cobras and NATHAN HERBERT of the Geelong Supercats. 300 Game inductee BRAITH COX (Geelong Supercats) receives his sixth selection and is joined in the back court with Frankston Blues youngster ANDREW HARMS. |

Preliminary Final August 3: Hobart Chargers 127 (M. Banovic 44, A. Stewart 39, R. Inches 18) defeated St Laurence Geelong Supercats 116 (N. Herbert 26, S. Myers 23, D. George 16) at the Geelong Arena. The St Laurence Geelong Supercats 2008 SEABL season, along with their unprecedented streak of three conference championship wins, has come to an end falling at the preliminary final stage to a rampant Hobart Chargers team at the Arena on Sunday afternoon. |
